Full Results! Summer Lead and Top Rope Aggregate 2024

The scores are in for this years Lead and Top-Rope comps and that means it’s time for the Lead Series Final on Thursday 5th September! Details and full results below.

The Big Rock Lead and Top-Rope comps are back for 2024! This year the Summer Lead and Top Rope Aggregate includes a round at each centre, starting on the 24th June.

All you need to do is try as many climbs in your chosen competition as you can (using as many attempts as you need) to score points! Entry for each round (either Lead or Top Rope) is £3.50 with all profits going to MK ACT. You can enter both the Lead and Top Rope categories, but you will need to purchase a scorecard for each.

How does it work?

A round will be held alternately at Bond and Hub, with each round featuring 15 routes from 5a to 7c+ (Lead) and 4 to 7a (Top Rope). You have until the end of each round to complete as many of the routes as possible.

Each route will be marked by a tag at the start with its aggregate number and whether it is in the Lead or Top Rope competition, plus two more tags up the route indicating the bonus holds.

Top the route cleanly to score the maximum three points, or award yourself a point for each bonus hold you used to get to your highest point before resting or falling. There are a maximum of two bonus points available for each route.

Keep working on those projects to bank more points! You can try a route as many times as you like and update your score if you get higher than your previous attempts. In the Lead competition, top-roping routes until you’re ready for the lead is also allowed, but you can only score points while leading.

Collect your Lead or Top Rope scorecard from reception at the start of each round, and be sure to hand it in at the end of the round.

Prizes.

At the end of the Aggregate the top three scores in the male and female Top Rope category will be awarded prize, with the top prize of a Learn to Lead course for first place.

Our finalists in the Cup and Shield categories will compete in the Lead final on the 5th September for the top prize of a shiny new rope (and kudos too, of course!), and all podium places on the night will be awarded a prize.

The top 4 males and 4 females with the highest overall Series scores have been invited to take part in the Cup Final, and the top 4 males and 4 females with the highest scores under the cut-off point have been invited to the Shield Final.
